El Paso County had trails projects on the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority draft list that was approved by the County Commissioners on Feb 28, 2012. The trail projects were later removed. After advocacy efforts by the Trails and Open Space Coalition, the Commissioners agreed to postpone voting on the PPRTA-2 list.

The Hub Bicycle Shop is hosting the Salsa sprinter van at Cheyenne Mountain State Park on April 24th. The will have around 20 bikes arriving from Minnesota. The will be Spearfish, Horsethief, El Mariachi, and Mukluks to ride. Take your shoes/pedals and have some fun on cool bikes.

The Rocky Mountain Endurance Series kicks off on Saturday April 21st with the Voodoo Fire at Pueblo Reservoir. There are different race distances from 12 miles for beginners up to 66 miles for the marathon race.

This weekend, April 14th and 15th, is the Front Range Cycling Classic at the Air Force Academy. There will be both collegiate and USA Cycling classes. Saturday morning is a collegiate only team trial followed by the Falcon Stadium criterium in the late morning and all afternoon. Sunday is the road race.
